Welcome to “Terri Johnson Creates”! I just wanted to share a little bit about myself! I’ve been married for almost 43 year! I have two beautiful daughters, and 4 amazing grandsons! So, my heart & home are always full of our family life!
This is my oldest daughter, Kari – with her husband & 3 boys! Noah is the oldest, then Greyson – -and our newest addition – Silas!
And this is my youngest daughter, Kristin – -with her hubby & sweet Nixon!
Sewing & creating have always been my passion, since I was a young girl — and how I’ve expressed & shared that has evolved over the years. This blog is just one more form of that expression! Sharing & teaching sewing, smocking, embroidery – & now Silhouette- has become a passion of mine over the years! I love seeing the “light bulb” come on when someone realizes that they understand how to do something they’ve wanted to learn! Being a Navy family for 25 years, we have lived all over the country & even in Japan! So, I have had some unique opportunities to teach & share my love of creating, including a class on Craftsy.com – Embroidering Monograms by Machine!
In 2000, I opened my own Sewing/Quilting/Embroidery store. It was a wonderful time of sharing, learning, meeting new friends & creating. This is where I first learned about Silhouette & developed methods for cutting machine embroidery appliqué & fabric with my Cameo! After 13 years, I made the decision to close that store & begin hosting Silhouette retreats & events. First, in smaller, hands on events (that I still hold) – but that grew to include the All Things Silhouette Conferences, Instructor Licensing & now online Silhouette Classes with Terri Johnson Academy! I’ve even had the privilege of presenting at the Annual Silhouette Summit in Hawaii!
I truly love hosting & teaching these events! They allow me to meet and connect with other women (sometimes men, too!) from all over the country & share my love of creating with them! And I have the privilege of seeing those women become excited & empowered when they learn that they can do this themselves! Such a rewarding job!
Hope that you enjoy the blog and tutorials that you find here on this site & that I have the opportunity to meet you at one of our upcoming events!
